Dear blogosphere, how are you all doing? One of the many perks of my graveyard shift is the ability to have internet access, from which I am able to write to you this fine morning. Its actually pretty nice, when I'm able to stay fully alert.
My title is in reference to my new sleeping habits, which have begun to effect my ability to see clearly in full daylight. Luckily, Winter is Coming (that one was for you Spence) and daylight hours are fading into non-existence. I work from 10pm until 6am Sunday through Thursday, so my sleeping hours are generally from 7am to 2pm. I try to spend as much time indoors as possible during daylight, so as to not burn my retinas. Also, staring at a computer screen all night long isn't enhancing my vision by any means. But it's a fairly easy job, and it comes with a decent paycheck and a sometimes rewarding feeling of accomplishment, so I trudge on.
I'm currently in the middle of planning one of my best friends Bridal Shower, and the process has been keeping me occupied for the last week or so. I found this awesome scrap booking paper on clearance at Hobby Lobby, and bought all of what remained on the shelf. With the paper I began to design a theme, and created invitations using it as a background, with the party information printed on white card stock, which I attached to the the background paper using 2 simple nickle finish brads, one in each top corner. It didn't take very long to do, and the price came to about .65 per invite. Not including postage, but still. Super cheap! And they turned out way cute, I think. I'll take a picture and post it next time. I'm still working out the plans for the party and I'll probably share as I go.
Lots of my inspiration is coming from my new addiction, pinterest.com. Its so fun, like tumblr but with links to the picture's website attached to the posts. I HIGHLY recommend you all join, its glorious. I could spend hours on there. And most nights I do just that :) Pinterest is where I found my newest project also. Its a little present I'm making for my sweet husband. He hates waiting for surprises so I may or may not be dragging it out a little longer than absolutely necessary, just to make him squirm. lol No its actually proving to be more involved a process than I originally thought. But its worth it. I'll post pictures of that finished product too. I've got just under 3 hours left on my shift, but I think I'll stop my rambling before it gets out of hand. More coming soon!
