Thanksgiving and other stuff

Last week seemed to just fly by. I had work on Monday, both morning and night, then also on Tuesday morning. Spencer, Josh and I drove down to Las Vegas together, hoping to outrun the huge blizzard that was making its way south. We missed the snow, luckily, and it ended up being a pretty fun mini road trip. Spending the holiday with the Judds was so much fun, I'm glad I was able to go. Spencer and I came back Friday, and we were able to spend Saturday and Sunday together too, that was really nice.

I've been looking at (finally) going back to school, it's a bit overwhelming. But I need to at least get a BA, and putting it off isn't doing any good. Making decisions is not one of my strong points, and deciding what do to do with school is so so soo hard. I'm doing it anyway though!

This is going to be a good week, I can feel it. Lunch time now, then errands and off to the gym. Hope your week goes as well as mine!

Love the Weekend

I've really come to appreciate sleeping in past 8am. Also, not having to wake up to my hideous alarm was so so so nice. All in all, my day has started off pretty well!

Black Friday is fast approaching, and the stores are going crazy. I personally don't understand what all the hype is about, I think it's a terrible idea to get up at 2 in the morning and go wait in line in the bitter cold, with a possibility of getting trampled to death, just to get a good deal on some jeans. Who does that? If only there were some sort of invention, that would allow us to trade money for products without having to resort to such drastic measures. I'm a big fan of websites like Overstock.com, where you can get a super good deal while sitting on the couch with a blanket and some hot chocolate, at 3 in the afternoon. Call me crazy, but that's my favorite way to find amazing deals.

It's time to start my day now. Ahh. This is gonna be a great day, I just know it :)

Remember remember, the 5th of November

Dear Blog, it sure has been a while. But I can't sleep, so neither will my computer. I'm very tired, but I have a terrible cough that wont let me lie still for more than 5 minutes at a time. Bother.

This is a good opportunity to update my blog though, so I'm going to take it. What a week it has been! I feel like it went by so fast, but still cant seem to remember a time before it began. I've been getting a ton of hours from both my jobs, which is a mixed blessing. I'm sure I'll love the paychecks, but running myself ragged for minimum wage doesn't quite seem worth it at present. I would really love to have another position, one that's 9 to 5, doing something I really like to do. Hey, maybe that's why people go to college... I should hop back on that band wagon. My plan is to go back next fall for sure. This next spring and summer are going to be soo busy. But things will settle down enough by September, hopefully.

This is a pathetic attempt at a blog entry, I promise to write more a little later. I have to sleep now. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Love you all!

Weekend Fun

This weekend was so much fun! Spencer and I went to Vegas, to visit his family. I was nervous, of course... Wanting them to like me, worried about making a good impression etc. But I think it went pretty well. We went down Friday afternoon, the drive wasn't all that bad. It was really beautiful around St. George, and into Arizona. After we got in Friday, we hung out with his brothers, playing video games. It was fun :) Saturday, Spencer and I went to the Outlet mall with his parents and walked around a bit, got some lunch, and went shopping. Spencer's youngest brother Ben had a school Halloween party to go to, and we went with. He was so cute, dressed up like a ninja. Later that night two other brothers, Jake and Cole, had a football game. I don't know enough about football to give a detailed description, but it was fun to watch them play. Everyone went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner, which by the way is so much better than wingers, and then went home. Spence and I made our escape soon after, to go hang out on the strip for a while. He took me to Serendipity's, a little outdoor cafe place by Caesar's, and we got some frozen hot chocolate. There were a bunch of people all over the place, dressed up like Zombies, but I'm not sure why.... one of them growled at Spencer.Creepy girl. I wanted to hit her :) We walked around the Bellagio, looking at their Seasonal Menagerie, and then watched a couple water shows before going home. It was a great date, Spencer really is so much fun to spend time with. Anything we do together ends up being super fun. All in all it was a terrific weekend, I think it all went pretty well.

I've still got a lot to do today, and still have to take a loong nap. I'm exhausted from work this morning. But it felt good, to get up and be productive. Have a good week everyone!

To Make You Feel My Love

When the rain is blowing in your face
And the whole world is on your case
I could offer you a warm embrace
To make you feel my love
When the evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one there to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love
I know you haven’t made your mind up yet
But I would never do you wrong
I’ve known it from the moment that we met
No doubt in my mind where you belong
I’d go hungry, I’d go black and blue
I’d go crawling down the avenue
There’s nothing that I wouldn’t do
To make you feel my love
The storms are raging on the rollin’ sea
And on the highway of regret
The winds of change are blowing wild and free
You ain’t seen nothing like me yet
I could make you happy, make your dreams come true
Nothing that I wouldn’t do
Go to the ends of the earth for you
To make you feel my love

This song has been in my head honestly all week long. I love it, so so much!

"Price Check in Mens, Please"

My first "official" day at work was actually not that bad. I actually enjoy setting up the sale signs for the next morning. I'm kind of in my own world, just scanning and printing tags. No customers to deal with, no standing in one place for hours at a time... It was a little frustrating that everyone just sat around for an hour in between taking down and putting up signs. We didn't get out of there until around 2:45 am, I was only scheduled until 12:30. But other than that, things went really well. It kind of stinks working that late means I don't get to see Spencer, which is always the highlight of my day. But I'm sure we'll find a way to make things work.

I guess we're heading to Vegas this weekend to spend some time with his family. It should really be a lot of fun! I'll admit, I do miss it there. Don't tell Spencer, he wont let me live it down. This will be good though, being able to spend the whole weekend just chilling out. I feel like things have been a little chaotic, so it'll be nice to leave all the stress of work and school behind for a couple days.

I'm gonna take a nap, I'm still exhausted from getting off of work so late, and I work until 11 again tonight. Peace out everyone :)

Smell That Sweet Autumn Air

Spencer and I went hiking this weekend. It was so beautiful!! Note to self though, the next time we decide to go on a spontaneous hike through treacherous terrain, make sure I grab the right shoes... It was a perfect day though, the weather cooperated wonderfully. Spence and I went and got some ice cream, and then went for a drive up Provo Canyon. As we were driving, we saw a beautiful waterfall! Who knew that Provo has a waterfall? Anyway, we pulled over and followed this little dirt road to the base of the falls. There was a trail heading up the side of the mountain, and Spencer ran up it and into the trees. I had no choice but to follow. It was fun to see him excited about it :) It really wasn't that bad of a trail, but without proper foot attire the going was slow. I almost gave up, but Spence kept me going, all the way to the top. The mist coming off the fall was so refreshing! We took some fun pictures of ourselves, and collected some pretty, fall colored leaves on the way down. All and all, it was a pretty fabulous date :) Thanks Spence.

Spencer and I also went to P.F. Changs for dinner this weekend, as our date, and while we were waiting for a table, he took me to Build-A-Bear!! We built a bear with awesome eyebrows and an old-school Jazz jersey. It's so soft, I love it :) Dinner was amazing, of course. Spencer spoils me. Too much. I also saw Toy Story 3 this weekend, with Madison and Mark. It was fun, sort of bitter-sweet. It's like my childhood really is over now. If Andy is all grown up, I suppose I should follow his example...

Almost Halloween, and I still don't have a costume. I'm running out of time!! I'm going to carve a pumpkin this weekend, I can hardly wait!! Last Halloween seemed so long ago, holy cow. I was a nurse last year, I guess I could do the same this year... But I'd rather do something new. Hmmm. Adios!

Wednesday, and the weekend is almost here!

Do you ever have those days where your mind is so full of randomness that it gives you a headache? Mine's been like that all morning. Nothing important really, just silly things like what to make for dinner, my to-do list for the rest of the week, etc. But it was putting me on edge. So I did what any other woman in my family would do... I cleaned!

Its funny, how much I've become like my mother. I always thought she was too picky about things being clean, about us doing the dishes a certain way, or making sure we made our beds every day. I feel bad, for making such little things a constant struggle all growing up. Only now, 12 years later can I really appreciate how hard my mom worked to keep the house neat and organized. Its so frustrating to live in a constant state of chaos, as I'm learning now. Karma sucks.

Halloween is coming up! My roommate and I are going to have a costume party for all of our friends, and I want a killer outfit. Just have no idea what I want to be yet. I love this time of year though, The crisp feeling in the air, the smells, the Apple Cider and Hot Chocolate, the pumpkin carving and apple pie making :) Leaves changing colors, bonfires, s'mores... So so much to enjoy!! Wearing cute scarves and boots. Ahhh, I'm so excited. That's all for now, Happy Upcoming Holidays everyone!

I'm giving in

I did it, I created a blog. I feel so old and boring now ;) No offense to all you other bloggers out there. I actually kind of like the idea of blogging. Life is going so well right now, I almost feel like I should stay on my toes. You know the whole "if its too good to be true..." kinda thing? Yeah. But I'm just a worrier by nature, so not having anything to stress over is slightly mind-boggling! Regardless, I'm doing my best to just enjoy it as much as possible.

I found a job! One I really like too. I work at Kohl's, in training still, but after a couple months I'm hoping to get bumped up the ladder a bit...to Admin Supervisor (it's pretty much a glorified Assistant Manager). It comes with a pay-raise though, and full time means benefits through the company too, so that would be fantastic! Keep your fingers crossed for me, eh?

I'm really enjoying my move to Provo, it's been pretty grand so far. I like my apartment a lot, and my roommates are pretty okay too. It's a lot better also, not having to travel an hour one way to see Spencer. We have more time to hang out now, that's really nice. I wish Aschylus was still here though, she moved back to Minnesota for the Fall Semester, and I miss having her around. Hopefully she'll come back this way after graduation??

That's all for now, I've got places to go, people to see. This was fun though, I might just keep it up!

Hope your day goes well!
